"The Galaxy Series",2016.  The idea of a private star chart evolved after seeing Galileo’s breathtaking Starry Messenger; an unpublished first copy, printed by Galileo and stained by his inky fingerprints, is owned by the Library of Congress. I researched old images of moons and planets and then created my own universe. My collagraph plates were inked with oil paints and then sprinkled with droplets of mineral spirits. The dampened Reeves Lightweight paper was set down and then run through the etching press. By the end of the printing process, I was dreaming about comets and colliding moons.
